Right - the problem
wen i first downloaded Messenger Plus it worked fine, then it suddenly started coming up with these Messenger Plus recovery messages, saying that i needed to restart msn to repair my problem, it did that everytimei started up msn. Until i downloaded the new version and then it was fine for a couple of weeks. But now its back doing the same old thing. I would try downloaded it again, but i would lose all my settings, and the problem would just happen again. How can a find a long term solution to the problem?
How solutions or suggestions welcome

What version of MSN Messenger are you using? (if you are not sure go to Main Messenger Window > Help > About) Also are you using version 3.2.104 of Messenger Plus (If you are not sure go to Main Messenger Window > Plus > About)?

Nope, you wouldn't...reinstalling Messenger Plus doesn't make you loose settings..

i am using 6.2.0137 for msn messenger
for plus i am using 3.2.100

Ok, try upgrading to the latest version http://download.msgplus.net/files/Setup3/MsgPlus-321.exe you can get it there...
Don't worry you won't loose any settings. Also are you using a patched version of MSN Messenger, which could also cause the problem.

Like when you have edit the main .exe file of MSN Messenger (usually a patcher will be used) to add new games to play, polygamy and various other things...Doing so is illegal and can cause some problems to MSN in the long term when other factors are added...

na i aint done that. oky doky im downlaodin it now. It shud work for a couple of weeks lik normal, but if it dont work like noral ill put another post on

If it occurs again and if you are running Windows XP, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and check the processes tab for the process: msmsgs.exe. If you have that process then that means that Windows Messenger is running and is started automaticly after MSN Messenger. This can cause the exact error/beheviour that you experienced...
