i want to see if my firewall is doing anything... i have windows xp firewall and i dont see any new about anything blocked so i am wondering if it even works... well where can i test my firewall...

You could try this to see if your ports are being closed

it means that the right ports are open/closed, that's about the best I can do...

The best Internet Security checker i know of is Symantec security check It checks your system, then gives you a detailed analysis of where your security flaws are and how you could improve them.

Don't give inproper information. What that test shows is the OUTBOUND application filtering. Windows XP's build in firewall is not meant to be an outbound filtering firewall (although it has some function for it)!! It is meant to be an INBOUND filter firewall. There is a day/night difference there... And it does a perfect job for inbound filtering!
