Why not just restrict people from voting when they give dodgy reasons? Get to the root of the problem...

The way i see it everyone has the same change to get a dodgy negative rating. So there isn't anything unfair. Other then that your ratings does not effect anything you can or can't do on the forum.

I think getting negative votes, even when they have a dody reason added to it, says something about what other members think about you. But don't depend too much on your rating, it's just a fun feature in the end. If people are braking the forum rules with their votes or if they systematically give people dodgy votes then i agree that action should be taken. But i don't see anything in strictly moderating ratings.

I agree with you on that one, but still the point is people giving dodgy negative vote, there is just no reason for it.  It will just take away from your count, even if its high it will just slighly change it, but still the point of the reputation is to give your oppinion about that user, but just to go voting around giving negative votes for no reason at all.

He was saying if a report button was added, it would only be for mods and admins, not for regular members like me or sean or anyone else in that catagory. 

I don't really see why we need it. It only causes disputes.

um... i had some valid stuff to say about the above, but the thread i said it in has been deleted, and i cba to type it all out yet again... :/ im on another forum, where regular members cannot rate.... why not do that? (as proxy said), or do as seggy said, because who cares about the rating? i dont even know how to see ppls ratings, and i dont care what mine is, it doesnt affect the fact i used to help on the irc chat lots. im sure people would still like me if i had heaps of negative feedback, because its one persons judgement. people shouldnt be so uptight, its only the internet...

Nah I'm going to try and keep away from it tbh.  I made my point with it and now I'm not interested.

Like DZ said, if he's going to have to moderate every reputation post. Then just chuck the whole system out like a dodgy banana. I think that the report ratings should be for elites/mods/admins/cool people like me .
