I have shittie dail- up and my modem iz ment to be 56.5 k but its working at 33.5k ,


Has n e one got n e ideas how to fix it or get it working up to speed without gettin boardband

Well, no connection ever works at full speed. My 512 kb/s usually downloads around 50 kb/s. I think that 33.5 kb/s is a pretty good reading.

you could just get broadband if u want fast internet

Check the line is plugged in right, if the modem isn't connected well to the line it can reduce speed up to 75%...also try upgrading your modem drivers...

Actually just an idea might be to change the slot that the PCI card with your modem on to another slot...

do u mean ur 512kb/s downloads at 50KB/s   cos 50kb/s just seems to slow for broadband.

kb = kilobits
KB = kilobytes

1KB = 8kb

dunno if u knew that or not
