i like the web interface, but i'm trying to use thunderbird to organise them, atm gmail online is winning

Yeah that's what I like about gmail too. No stupid flash advertisements on top or complex gui to load like Hotmail.

yeah exactly how i feel, the only thing i'll possibly use of this pop3 will be using plus to check it instead of my firefox extension

But this will get rid of the need for google notfier, there are probably programs that do the same thing with pop3.

Did you Configure it to look on Port 587 ? your smpt port?

Can someone take a screen shot of the settings in Msg Plus! I know what to do with my username/password and email address, but I'm not sure what server/port thing I need to use.

U need this info which you can find in your Gmail help center:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server – requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Does Msgplus support SSL by the way?... ...
