ok, ive got the newest version of msn, and the newest version of plus. heres my problem. recently when i change my status, its always one behind. like if i change my status to away, it doesnt change, but then if i change it to be right back a few seconds after, it goes to the status away. then if i change it to on the phone a few seconds after, it goes to the status be right back. any ideas on whats goin on? ive tried uninstalling plus and reinstalling. its only when plus is running that this happens. ive tried running msn without plus and it works fine.

any help would be great

Are you running MSN Messenger 6 or 7?

Did you try disabling all your plugins? (Go to Plus! > Preferences > Plugins, and make sure "Allow Messenger Plus! to load plugins in my account" is unchecked, or uncheck all the boxes in the plugin list).
