O.P.
I have £500 to spend, either on a laptop or a desktop.
I dont really need a powerfull pc, something that I can do work on, surf the net, music etc...
I'd like to have wireless networking on it too.
What do you think i should get?

I don't know if you can get a decent computer with that amount of money.
But, if you have already got a desktop, get a laptop (if it's possible).
If I were you, I might upgrade my desktop.

You can get a Dell Inspiron 1100 for £529, but if at all possible, I'd suggest spending another £200 to get a MUCH better PC over-all.

that could work to my advantage, since loads of call centres are in gurgaon (which is a really fast developing part of india) they mostly speak Hindi
I might get a Dell, or an IBM, or ill go to my local pc shop and see wot they've got.

Good PC's for a reasonable price and top quality support. On a side note you will find more bang for your £ from AMD based systems.
