That is something entirly different. If something gets messed up, it doesn't mean it is a virus. However when dealing with beta software, such things are to be expected!
MSN Messenger 7 is still in
PRIVATE BETA. This means that it still is in testing fase and all sort of things can happen.
If you're not an official MS beta tester (which you aren't, I think) and if you don't know what you're doing, it is illegal and also very risky to install it.
