why is the edit button so slow most of the time i get page can't be displayed is it just my computer or isp?

The edit button just loads the edit page, it needs to grab your post from the database and that can take a very small amount of time.

But, the forums in general are slow at some moments, so not much todo with the edit button alone.


EDIT: oh yeah, forgot all about the option in cpanel

It's because it's loading that dern bbcode helper. It's the same with the new thread and post reply buttons.

If you haven't already done so, go to http://shoutbox.menthix.net/usercp.php?action=options and use the option "Hide the MyCode inserters." That's guaranteed to speed up the loading of the edit page.
