How can i change the background on the principal page of msn ??

If you mean the background of the contact list.
Then make a gif file, called lvback.gif with your desired graphic in it.
Then place this file in your messenger foolder, usually C:\Program files\Msn Messenger
Then just close and open the contact window and your graphic should be used as the background.

How i make a gif file??

Using any image editor like photoshop, or fireworks.
On some computers even paint can to gif's

And try restarting messenger, sometimes it doesnt work by just closeing and opening the contact window
