can someone tell me wat an iso is (from a CD/DVD)

An ISO file is an image file of a CD / DVD, which means it is a track by track, sector by sector exact copy of a CD.
The image contains everything on the CD - not only the files you can see but also the File Allocation Table.
Almost any CD burning program can read it and write it to a CD or make ISO images of complete CDs.
