O.P. Messenger Plus! in a 64-bit OS enviroment.
I remember reading a user having problems with Plus! and Windows XP x64. I know myself and several other forum members recently got 64-bit Windows, and I don't know about them but I'm going to partition my HDD and install XP MCE 2005 AND XP x64. I just wanted to note that if you (Patchou) want to test Plus! in an x64 enviroment then I (and I'm sure the other couple ppl too) would be happy to help out
(This may not be for a while bcz I remember you stating you wouldn't worry about XP x64 compat. until you had a 64-bit proc., but I thought I'd mention it .)

That's the absolute top of the line FX series. To get a base 64-bit is about $200, and the one I have is about $380.

whats the point going to a 3500 64Bit? .. no point IMO , but to get a good Motherboard + Cpu + Ram its gonna be to expensive atm. wait till the 4000+ Cpu's are out an i may induldge in a 3800+ with a Motherboard that has Double onboard Lan , Ram, that should come down in price soon enough,

They ARE out
But yeah, going 64-bit right now is very expensive and unnesessary IMO

yeah i kinda thought so but i wasnt sure, but your right 64Bit isnt nesessary thing to get atm as there isnt enough 64Bit made Programs , , its like SATA , give it a few more years an it'll be better than they are now, if im right SATA 2 is being worked on Now, , i have SATA Disk's just incase 1 IDE drive Faills, but i prefer IDE interface atm just like the 32Bit OS's an Programs

RE: Messenger Plus! in a 64-bit OS enviroment.
well back on topic....
Id also like to know about Plus! and a 64 bit enviroment
In order to make a 64 bit version of Plus! Patchou would have to buy himself a new 64 bit PC to test it out with. I think he should make a 64 bit version as it will be faster and be prepared for the future (of course it is always 32 bit backwards compatible)

It would also cost him a big pile of cash. I think MP is fine as it currently is as we arnt moving (mainstream) to 64-bit till Longhorn comes out.

No, you can use 64-bit processor with regular windows, we're just talking about the upcomming 64-bit windows edition.
Windows XP x64
and
Windows Codename Longhorn
