O.P. Windows update.com?
Is windowsupdate.com not working?


the error is: Network policy settings prevent you from using Windows Update to download and install updates on your computer. If you believe you have received this message in error, please check with your system administrator...

www.windowsupdate.com and update.microsoft.com , etc... all work perfectly here....

note that you need to use MSIE to go to those sites...
and you also might want to check your internet settings...


EDIT after reply: in other words you needed to check your internet settings... :p

I did and everything seems to be fine...but can't get into windowsupdate i keep getting

Network policy settings prevent you from using Windows Update to download and install updates on your computer. If you believe you have received this message in error, please check with your system administrator...
Resolved here is how i did it:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoWindowsUpdate"=dword:00000000
