I recently signed up for a new gmail account. Gmail has started providing POP3 access. So, I thought it would be a lot better if i could be notified of new gmail mail nia msn messenger itself which keeps running no matter what I am doing. But sadly, msgplus's pop3 feature is just not working. Here are the settings that I entered (obtained from the gmail site)

Email address : <myemail>@gmail.com
Server: pop.gmail.com
Login : <myemail>@gmail.com
Pass : <mypass>
Email Client or link : http://gmail.google.com/gmail

MSGPLUS version : 3.01.94

Gmail requires SSL, Plus! doesn't support this yet. You will be able to check Gmail with Plus! when the next version is released (febr./march).

Are there any plugins in msplus which would support gmail pop3 access?

Not currently, and there won't be: the next release of Plus will have SSL support.
The best bet for now is to try and find 'POP Goes The GMail'.

Not the best bet, since that program also trys to provide POP3 support, when Gmail has it. I'd just download Gmail's own notifier, since that will be updated, and will always ensure compatibility.

You'll be able to add your GMail account in Plus! in version 3.50 (should be released in a little bit more than a month from now).

i hav another hotmail address that i only use 4 emails, what server do i need to add it to the pop3 thinger?????

hotmail doesnt support pop3

talking about Gmail, is this thing onyl for beta testers?
