for some reason when me and my friend try connecting to whiteboard it won't connect. It says its connecting but never does and whoever started it gets a message saying that there is a problem with the others network or computer...any reasons why it might not be working?

All sorts can be causing this, including routers, ISP, damaged installations of Windows Messenger...
Basically, check everything is working, and that your router (if you have one) is UPnP compatible, and that feature is switched on.
