i just recently formated and after i reinstalled msn and plus, everytime i open a new msn window, a blank internet explorer window opens up at the same time in the back
its not even a site
everything is blank
and i know thats plus is causing it cuz if i close it (end task) it doesnt do it anymore
i don't really mind...but it's really anoying ''/
if anyone has an idea.......

Could you tell us wich version of MSN Messenger and Plus! you are using? Any plugins?

Also have you updated Windows (esp. IE) yet?

Edit: I'm thinking about the recovery screen coming up (maybe wrong Plus! version) or a screenie of a wrongly installed plugin, and IE not being up to date or some other things not installed such as ActiveX (DirectX) and/or Java (reason why it is blank).

Maybe when reinstalling plus you agreed to install the sponsor by accident, and the adware which was installed is causing the popups.

Then there still wouldn't be a blank window. But it could be a firewall or adware blocker yes.

But i highly doubt it. Because nitrolic says it doesn't happen when he/she kills the MsgPlus! process. So the blank window must come from msgplus.exe or something attached to it. And the adware sponsor is indeed bundeled with Plus!, but it's not intergrated into Plus!. The Messenger Plus! installer downloads the sponsor installer when you choose to and everything else is seperated from there as far as i know. Correct me if i'm wrong.

i have msn 6.2.0137 installed and Messenger Plus 3.25.106
and no i didnt install the sponsors
i have the handwriting plugin
and i also have the msn penguin skin on
oh....and messenger discovery 2.6.2
one thing i didnt do since my format was windows update
ill try that and post back if the blank page still comes up

From what i see now is that the popup (blank screen) is most likely from the handwriting plugin (you have the correct version of Plus! for your version of MSN), telling you it wasn't installed correctly (ink redist). You can get ink redist here, make sure you choose "for all" and not "just for you" whilst installing that. Also see Ink/handwriting, all you need to know....

Asfor it being blank that is most likely caused by the other things i mentioned (IE not updated, ActiveX and/or Java not being installed).

Edit: Still looking forward to hearing from you if i was correct and if it's solved or not...
