I am trying to help a friend with a problem she is having with MSN Messenger. Her problem is: Recently I've tried to use MSN messenger as a means to keep up with friends and family but can't seem to get it to work on my comp...I keep getting a message to the effect of " Your program is making an invalid dynamic link call to a .dll file". Does anyone know what exactly this means? Is it a .dll file I'm missing. So far MSN has only been able to suggest a few things to do with audio compression that makes absolutely no sense and doesn't change anything...any ideas? Thank you for any thoughts you might have.
I am running ME with a cable connection.
She has uninstalled and reinstalled MSN Messenger a number of times to no effect. She has scanned her PC for viruses and spyware but comes up zip.
Okay, Uninstall MSN Messenger via. Add/Remove Programs, then delete the msn messenger folder, after this, download the newest MSN Messenger frm http://messenger.msn.com... Then install...
if this doesn't work, then I'm not sure what to mention ...
This http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?t=320548&page=1&pp=15 is the person I know that is having this problem. As you can see in this long thread she has tried most everything that was suggested to her. When she uninstalls and cleans up the left over files there is one or more that are not getting deleted but she can't seem to find any.
