yep, its been like this for a while, even my IE icon when i open an IE window is the install symbol instead of explorer

hmm, i think the easiest way would be to find out where the icons are, then right click > properties > customize... and you can change the icons to however you wish...

but thats the thing, it says all the icons are changed to their proper thing, and when i do change em, the icon just vanishes

You may be interested in TweakUI. If you Google for it, you should find it.
It has a 'Repair' module that allows you to rebuild the icons, making sure they're correct.

editi know windows 98 isnt the reccomended version for firefox, but is there a way to get the firefox icon in the corner of a firefox window instead of the windows 98 symbol
