I know that counterstrike is free to download but I don' t know any good places to get it from.  Any suggestions?

Keep in mind, Most people are using Counter-Strike Source now (included with Half Life 2)

Actually - Counter-Strike is not COMPLETLY free.

While it's true that the mod, Counter-Strike, itself is free, you need to have half-life to run it. If you have half-life then you can get Counter-Strike through Steam.

I have the original half-life and I wanna play counterstrike.  Thanks.

er.. i think the 1.6 version is still the most played, as the best teams are still playing it, and events such as ESWC are still played with 1.6 :p

but it's true that the CPL plans to use CS:S at their next big event, dunno if the world best teams will start playing it.

Anyways - the thing is, CS: S is quite a bit different from CS 1.6. The physics are a lot more realistic so ppl used to the classic CS aren't as good as it.


Myself - I rock at Source but suck at CS 1.6

true, it seems like the physics and gameplay are so different between source and .6 that it's not even the same game anymore
