Anyone know any programs that can edit and manipulate photographs? I'm currently using paint to create funny pictures for my website...which as you can tell looks pretty crappy.

I need software which allows you to edit photos of people and make it look perfectly normal. Something professional which allows you to edit it a lot, add text, create different backgrounds and basically allow you to copy and paste things without the photos then looking basically out of place. And no i'm not going to create fake porn...but thats the type of program i'm after.

plus its got to be a free program. since i'm unemployed and poor.

there is a program called gimp, dont have a link sorry but if u google its pretty popular, never used it but ive heard its the best free software for what your after

ya go gimp...it was on g4tech tv pretty good but i wouldnt know cause photoshop owns

Gimp works well, but it takes some real getting used to.

For the basic photo editing, Check out Picassa (A Google product). It's free and seems to work pretty well.

The Picture Manager in OFFICE2003 sounds nice~

I like Uleads PhotoImpact....It's amazing!  You can add nice animated effects to images.... and skin retouches, hundreds of image tweaks...

Macromedia fireworks is good but i think they stopped with the trial version download.. But if you type fireworks in then you can download it from another mirror.. Its pretty good for animation and everything else
