O.P. Suggestion: Optional Adware
Instead of just choosing, I think it would be more intelligent, if the installer would need to type a phrase that says "Yes, I agree to install the optional adware" or somewhat like that, so he really thinks about what he is writing.
What do you say?

i don't agree. you have a very clear option of installing or NOT installing the sponsor right now. and writing stuff in would take too long..

Well, currently, lots of people really go, "fast install", withen seconds, and come complaining of spyware, that way, instead, they would type something, that they really are thinking of, no body really "blind writes" those days, it could be only a "Yes".

i still disagree, if you don't read rules you are at fault. i still think that this would be a bad idea. i think its cool that u'r thinking of stuff like that to make people's lifes easier, but they have to learn on their own to read and follow rules.
also, the sponsor is not so hard to get rid of all you have to do is uninstall it .
Edit: majority of the people who install plus! don't seem to have any problems with installing or not installing the sponsor

Nope, sorry but these things won't be done. I'm very against anyhing that's made against common sense. The installer is already packed with warnings, people who don't see them, select "I accept", click Install and then wonder what happened just need to assume the responsability of their acts (which is not that harsh as a quick uninstall solves the "problem"). If you think you are good enough with computers to install software on your computer, then you should be able to read what is cleary written during the installation of those software.

RE: Suggestion: Optional Adware
i think i got a quick good suggestion:
instead of
[ ] i agree, install plus with sponsor
[ ] i refuse, install plus without sponsor
make it something like:
install plus [ ] with sponsor (i agree to sponsor liscence)
[ ] without sponsor (i refuse sponsore liscence)
with sentences alligned this way, its very abvious that installing plus will happen in either case, and obvious that choice is about sponsor

I will stay with Patchou's point, if people aren't intelligent enough to read, and see what they are installing, let them not install Plus!

RE: Suggestion: Optional Adware
Patchou has already done enough in this respect, you can even now uninstall the sponsor without uninstalling plus!
