when someone send me pics
and  msn will show this:

XXX@hotmail.com try to send the file (xxx.jpg) to you. Because this file maybe dangerous, it was blocked.

(Sorry....because i am using MSN in chinese, so i translate it by myself.....)


can anyone help me to fix this problem....

PS i am using the newest MSN and MSN PLUS

its because Msn Messenger 7 blocks sending many types of files.
Because they feel that its more protective if no one sends these types of files.

im not sure what the views are on these but this patch can remove it

Please do not post direct downloadlinks (esp. for patches), so people can read the warnings etc. first to (if the site redirects use Cosmo Framer).

Btw what does Cosmo Framer does. Instead of opening sites in an iframe.

And how many people actually read the readme's (you can compare it with EULAs)? Nothin wrong with telling/warning them upfront.

Cosmo Framer makes a link so people can go to the downloadpage directly incase a site redirects to the mainpage.

fucking hell, what types of files can you send if msn messenger blocks pictures? Are the only files you can send text files?(without the patch)

According to the description on that mess.be patch, you can't even send those files. Looks like microsoft have blocked every single file type.

Do NOT remove the file blocking!!!!!!

If MSN Messenger tells you that the .JPG file is blocked then it is NOT a .jpg file but an malicious executable file. JPG's are not blocked file types!

Remember that by default Windows do not show file extensions. And most likely it is still configure that way with Mws. EDIT: The file could still be something else then a .JPG but a malicious executable file, like mostlikely a .pif in that case.

So people, PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEAASE be extremely carefull in using such patches and blindly suggesting to remove the blocking FFS .
