exactly Third Dimension, but theres a little bit to the numbers

the first number is changed for a major update
then the second section is for minor feature updates
then the third section is usually for bug fixes

Check the help > info about messenger section. If it was a beta version, it would have been mentioned there, with a warning that it can contain bugs, etc....

I personally don't think that the new final release should be 7.1 anyway 'cause I think it's still a bit dodgy. It occasionallt crashes, and for some reason sometimes it has the packs button and the whats hot in the smilies and backgrounds etc. and the option in actions to "get more from messenger" and the search button in the convo and sometimes all of that disappears lol. When this happens you also can't look at spaces from it. Dunno i just find it still to be a bit unstable

how can they go from 6.2 to 7.1 without officially releasing 7.0?

Sorry people but I'm being dim here.

I would like to dl this new version, off of the proper msn site would be best, obviously. I can't see anything about a version 7.0.0777, so I tried just selecting download msn messenger and got 7.0... but since it's no longer labelled beta I guess this is the new version you're all talking about? And that I should just install that?

One of my friends (who was running 7.0) said the upgrade was automatic on his. Is this right? If so, I didn't receive any notice of it (and am running the official beta 7.0, not the old leaked one.)
