Hi. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

my problem:

i've installed Plus! and i found out that i wasn't able to view chinese characters on people's sn. i don't want to uninstall Plus! because i think it's great. but at the same time, i'm not able to read people's sn because they're in a different language (chinese).
Is there any way to sort out this problem?

Are you using Windows Operating system that predates Windows XP? (Eg. Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98 or 95)?

i'm just using Windows XP.

does they appear before u installed the msgplus!...... or chk them by quitting the msgplus.exe from taskmanager and restart msn msngr then chk do the people's sn appear correclty..??

If not, then you may need to download extra language packs from Windows Update or the Microsoft website.

this happened after i installed Plus!
when i uninstall Plus! i can see the characters perfectly. i don't want to uninstall Plus! because then i'll be loosing out of the fun.


raceprouk if i download extra language packs, will that make my whole computer read in  chinese?

Go in Control Panel, Regional Settings. In the Languages tab, make sure "Install files for East Asian Languages" is checked. Now, i nthe same window, click on "Details", then go in the Advanced tab of the new window and make sure no option is checked there.

If you did any change, press OK and restart your computer. This should fix the problem (and don't worry, it won't cause any problem to any other program).
