O.P. I'm lost
i'm not sure where this thread should b exactly, but oh well. i've recently got a new laptop (XP Home) and when i try to load MSNGR PLUS!, it loads it straight to WINDOWS msngr, but i want it to load to MSN msgr. i was wondering if there was someway to get around that, or if this should go in general talk as a suggestion, or go in the Windows/Messenger forum. i'll post this thread in both, but i'm not quite sure.....

RE: I'm lost
are you saying you don't want windows messenger loading at start up?
if yes, go to run>type in msconfig and turn it off or if you don't want to mess up your system by accident, go here and use it to stop it (don't remove it completely tho)

RE: I'm lost
There's been a few people asking for compatibility to be totally removed with Windows Messenger, however there is currently no way to do this. Sorry. However when Patchou (creator of Messenger Plus) returns from his holiday and is back into developing Plus, I will e-mail him if he plans to make a way to have an optional removal compatibility with Windows Messenger.

One way Patchou could do this is by blocking the windows messenger version numbers.
I should change my sig ay?

Uninstall Messenger Plus and MSN Messenger. Then install MSN Messenger 7 from http://messenger.msn.com/. Now install Messenger Plus 3.52. Does it work now?

RE: I'm lost
If it doesn't work, I suggest you to go to this option.
In Windows Messenger:
Tools/Options.../Preferences/
Uncheck "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts"
Plus! will still be hooked to it, but the messenger simply isn't loaded up in the startup.
