Antivirus company Sophos claims they have discovered the first trojan for Mac OS X.
The trojan named Mac/Cowhand-A copies itself into the startup items and opens a backdoor to allow access through the network, acting as a proxy.
Sophos didn't give any information whether this virus is only a proof-of-concept or already spreading.

I always thought the 'registry' was a windows-only thing..

still not bad if its 1 Virus only ..compared to 60,000 Viruses that can affect Microsoft Windows alone , 1 or 4 Viruses isnt much at all

Every OS is vulnerable to viruses, a waterproof security can never be created. Mac has always got fewer viruses than Windows because it's less used, altough you now hear about more people transferring to it, or at least having both now. The same with Linux.

true dude but Microsoft Windows get more hits with Viruses than any other OS say for example Linux/Unix, Linux only hads bout 6 or less Viruses that can cause problems,

and I explained why . Windows is far more used than Linux, that's why virusprogrammers prefer to make viruses for Windows .

Don't forget there are thousands of rootkits for Linux..
