O.P. Un-Delete Files...
is there a way to restore files that have been cleared from the recycle bin without using norton thing, i used to have it.....it pissed me off sooo much cause i couldnt view the recycle bin easily....

anyways to restore the files?

TuneUp utilities also has a similar feature:  http://www.tucows.com/preview/317392.html

And i recommend TuneUp for general maintain of your computer too (y)

Yeah, also try the Registry Cleaner and Disk Cleaner (also Registry Defrage but be very careful with that)

I have it set for a weekly 1-click maintenance, and when my computer becomes weird i run the other tests ;)

You just right click the recycle bin and go down to 'Explore' so it dosnt open the norton recover'er.

i've used a program called recover my files to retrive like 1200 excel files from a dead computer for a friend. it worked quite good and the drive didnt even have a file system on it.

To recover your files, check out Recover My Files. Remember that using recovery applications like Recover My Files, the more your disk has been modified, the less chance you have at being able to recover files.

To keep the Norton undelete-thing-ma-bob, but be able to use the regular Windows Recycle Bin, right click Recycle Bin, and go to properties. There shoule be an extra options tab there. Pick what you want in "When i double-click Recycle Bin ...". This info is from my memory of Norton 2001, so it might be a bit different.
