hey.. my connection speed on my laptop has considerly been lowered.. I mean I can realize the difference ( and the diff. is huge ) simply by browsing internet, downloading, or even by msn messenger. I don't know why though.. I run on a wireless connections ( D-Link ) at 10.0 Mbps.. anyone has a clue how I can get the speed back up? is there any trick..?! I'd appreciate it..! thx!

What is your actual connection speed directly from your ISP? (Like 3MBps etc)

Trying going to: http://performance.toast.net/ and run a speed test? If your connection is considerable low then make sure that no other PC is using like a BitTorrent client or any P2P programs because that can cause leg across the entire network affecting every computers connection rate.

If the speed test shows a low connection run the same test on another PC in your home to see what it says. If its fine then on your laptop clear your temporary internet files, use adware programs to clean up your system, and also check how many processes in which you are running. (CTRL+ALT+DEL either count them or in the bottom left it will say).

aight well i took the tests.. i ranked good for the 2-3 first but then after i was last..

maybe there is a problem with the internet service..i had that problem too but i just went thru it..it got better after couple of days

Maybe your over your download limit (if you have one) And your speed has been capped.
Or maybe your wireless network is having problems sending info to each other

What internet Service Provider are you using?

Im using sympatico high speed plugged in a dlink wireless router..

To be honest, it would be better to run the test when your plugged in via ethernet. You wouldn't have to worry about wireless overhead.

when im connected direclty to my modem im going ****ing fast! I mean my dwl rate is easily at 400KBS! and my surfing, woh! but its on wireless that fucks up.. and i have a laptop so beng connected on a desk aint rlly useful
