Is there any way to have a secure encrypted chat with MSN Messenger?

I believe Messenger Discovery supports Encrypted messages

Also note that every (afaik) messenger encryption program will require the recevier to have to same program.

To be honest, why do you people want these encryption programs? If you're planning something super secret, do it on the phone or face to face.

There are many instances where someone would like an encrypted chat, in cases that involve exchange of sensitive data like credit cards, etc. I know there are other means but it would be cool to be able to have MSN as an alternate secure way.

MSN is still pretty secured for what people use it for. If you want something really really state secret secure you might wanna look at other software packages. MSN encrypts messages to a degree but not stupidly as it would take time to send... encrypt... decrypt and then read.

You should also not give credit card details via any online IM program. MSN has a message that can be removed saying "remember do not give out any personal details" blah. etc...
