I ahve read that the colour code always works if the user is using translucent conversation windows. I think it was on this forum, I'm not sure though.

Remember that you will annoy your contacts that don't have Messenger Plus! installed, because they will just see the colour code ·$0 at the end of your display name.

I've not tested this but this sounds very unlikely. It is the text that you color, but it isn't the text that will be translucent, but the background. Hence you still will see the text color. (is also logic though, otherwise you wouldn't even see any text :P)

yes indeed... (although the code can be different depending on what color you've used ;))

The solution with the colour isn't really enough for me. I just want to change things on my own messenger. Not make my name look dumb to other people just becouse they haven't got msgplus installed (even if they maybe deserves it ;))

The changes in msglang.dll is better, but it's not fully satisfying. (can you say it like that? sorry for my bad english =) )

Can't you make it to one line instead of two? I've read the old thread about "mIRC-plugin" where they discuss this too, it was the last question there also, but it has no reply.
I mean, string id 2030 doesn't contain any character to jump to next line so obviously you can't make it any better there. But can't you find this elsewhere in the msglang.dll or any other program-file?
I don't really know how the files are built up. But couldn't there be like an string containing somthing like "2030/n%2"?

I know there must be some smart guy here at the forum who can help ;)

no

Though, I'm not saying it is totaly impossible, but it will break compatibily for sure with many many things and you'll experience many bugs or things not working properly. (not to mention it will look dead ugly)

Some things can't be costumized. In fact MSN Messenger isn't build to be costumized at all and you need to be very carefully to not break anything if you still attempt to costumize anything.

Not in my end. At least it was white the last time you said something... annoying.

Read the posts in this thread, it explains ways to do it.

There is no 100% method though

If you edit the MSN strings you can remove it compltely from your end (but contacts will still see it)

Or you can use the /nick2 command to change it to the same colour as the background of your conversation window and then it will be hidden for you and for anyone who has the same colour conversation window background as you
