OR ask them to type in the plus command (!IP) for you, and you will be able to see their ip.

tell them to visit www.whatismyip.com if they don't have plus

Yes, they need to start a file transfer with you that doesn't get routed through the MSN servers, then you need to run netstat and figure out which incoming connection is theirs, but to be honest, who cares if you have his IP? Tons of people have my IP, but I don't care. If you use a firewall and common sense, you minimise the risk of someone hacking you, and to be honest who would hack you? Are you some sort of secret agent? It's not like they'd gain much by hacking you. If you are simply a home user, then your chances of getting targeted are slim to none.
