I just noticed this thread in bug report.

This  guy who posted the bug has two posts in this thread but his post counter is only 1...
Then if you look at his profile it says 1 post still. (pressing [Find] will find both posts however.)
I realise this sort of this has happened before in the past but this dude was posting (and registered) just yesterday

AFAIK the posts are not counted if u start a thread.. or u can say that if u start a thread and ur first post will not be count as ur post count....

and this is normal behaviour.
and that's why haydn is wondering why it didn't happen with that guy.

Mnjul actually used the "thread notes" feature to say what happened. Apparently he split the wrong post (sphyro's?) then merged it back. I'm not sure why the post count got messed up, but I really don't care.

Does this mean any thread/post moved from T+T will be not counted? Or is it just beacuse it was moved down there first? tsk tsk dodgy forums

No, it's just the thread merge feature that doesn't care about post counts. A regular move from T&T to another forum would result in post counts being updated.

There'll be a complicated PHP, MySQL, MyBB or WDZ bug responsible...
However in lamens terms it's that the forum believes that when thread merging happens, it is only supposed to put one post count on, and ignore the merged post. Simply a fault in the coding\settings.
