Hi,
I'm not new to messenger plus, I've used it for ages and love it. However, due to a mock-up on my system i had to reinstall xp and now i have to get back all my programs.

I already have MSN Messenger 7 and i am now trying to install MSG Plus

I have downloaded it about 7 times, from different places and mirrors and i always seem to get the same error, everytime i double click on the installer i get a warning sound (the sound you get when warning messages popup) and then nothing happens.

I have downloaded 3 times using a download manager, 3 times with regular firefox and once using internet explorer, each time (apart from with IE) ive downloaded off the main site and off the UK and Germany mirror.

Any Suggestions?

Do you think a anto spyware program may be blocking it from running?

i have no anti-spware programs, i only just reinstalled windows. And i dont see how it would prevent the installer from running anyways?

You should really have an anti-spyware program.

As for Plus not installing, have you got Norton or McAfee products installed? Sometimes certain products can get in the way of Plus's installer.

Nope, i have nothing installed on my comp apart from musicmatch, firefox, thunderbird, limewire and msn

Can you please expand on what the error says, if it does?

If this is the same as another error in the forums a while back (which i fancy it is), there is no error at all... just the error sound.

I cant seem 2 find it atm(still lookin)... does anybody remember how this problem was resolved as it came up not long ago

If you do Ctrl+Alt+Del, does the installer's filename appear under Processes?
