O.P. Why is it?
On MSN Wenever you get a pop up when someone signs in my pc crashes for about 30secs. Its really peeing me off.
I am using xp
256mb of ram
120gb HD

When you are reinstalling msn, uninstall it completely first, then reinstall it from scratch.

What did you install, or what changes did you do to your system before that started hapenning?

Is CPU or RAM is being "abused" by any process?
