After installing a screensaver (fantasy forrest) there is no sound
from messenger anymore when someone sends me a message.

Everything is working perfectly when no screensaver is busy.
I do not use hibernate or sleep mode.

When I use the mouse or keyboard and the screensaver switches off I
see that someone said something to me.

The screensaver is completely removed, but the problem is still there.


A friend of mine has the same problem.

Hope someone has a solution.

i think there is a option on plus that stops sounds from msn messenger when there is a full screen thing running.in this case the screensaver. (i think its that)

No, It's a MSN Messenger feature.

Tools > Options > Personal > My Status > Show me as Busy and block my alerts when I'm running a full screen program, such as a slide presentation,

Go to your screensaver options, are you sure there is a play sound box ticked and your speakers are on?

No both of the solutions didn't work.

And speakers are on because all works well when no screensaver is running.

In the screensaver options there is no setting for the sound.
Before I deleted the forrest screensaver I switched  sound
on again in the options of that screensaver.

Now I am using just a standard windows screensaver.
And no sound from messenger.
(when a mp3 is running the music stays on, but no msn sound)

Are sounds usually working in MSN then? Tools > Options > Alerts

Yes, all works like a charm in the normal way.
All sounds set to be switched on.
