O.P. "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file"
I often get this error when I try and uninstall a program. What I have to do to remove the program is go into it's folder, rename the INSTALL file to something like INSTALL.LOG and then when I click the UNWISE uninstaller it asks me to find the INSTALL.LOG manually. So then I change the name of the file I renamed back to INSTALL and I will be able to find it in the file I am browsing. Then I can click 'open' and then I will be able to uninstall the program.

Is there a reason why I am having to do this?
This might be helpfull for other people who couldn't uninstall a program...

Don't really understand what you mean, but does the same happen if you use add/remove programs in control panel?

Okay, so I go to the control panel and then go into add/reomve programs. When I go to the program and click 'remove' I will get an error which says "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file" So then I have to uninstall manually.

That happens when install.log is missing (obviously)

Install.log is created by the installer and stored in the installation directory usually. It is used by the uninstaller to see what to remove.

Yep, I know ;) The INSTALL log is in the folder, but for some reason the computer can't find it so I have to do it my way.

The buggy software is "Wise Installer". I just had the same problem as ever: "Couldn't find INSTALL.LOG", although it is in there.
This time it was WindowBlinds.

You have to start unwise.exe manually and then choose the install.log or type "unwise install.log" in a shell.

Regards
Vince
