ok on the computer that is now in my room has windows 98 on it.  well after a few days of running it the built in sound card stopped working.  like when i go to control panel and then multimedia it doesnt recognize the soundcard...but it has the drivers in there b/c i looked in device manager and the drivers werw ok.  well i would like to find out why it isnt working anymore so thanks anyways.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

In device manager remove the drivers and reboot the computer. Try updating the drives as well.

Crystal WDM Audio Codec Driver  is what i need and i would like to get it from an offical site and not some virus filled site so give me a link if u can, b/c all i found were virus like sites.

and im gunna usemy sis's flsh drive to transfere the drivers.

ok well i installed it and umm when i go to CP and then multimedia and there still say there are no devices to install and when i go to Cp and then sounds and i try to preview sounds it wont let my click the play button..?

sorry for the double post but the sound card still wont work so should i just get a new sound card?
