Basically I am after any information possible to be able to find my IP address.
I am behind a router, i know my routers ip, my dns's my LAN IP, but cannot find a way to connect to my ftp server (that by the way seems to only be able to see my LAN ip, or if i try "detect" comes up with my router ip)

I had thought that my rounter ip was my ip and that i need to forward ports to access the services i want, but it doesnt seem to work. Port forwarding doesnt seem to work well for me, i added my ip to the DMZ because even when i open all the ports i seem to need things like Bit torrent seem to go slower or not connect.

Ipconfig also just shows my LAN ips.

I'm on Win XP sp2, with a d-link 504g router.

Any help or leads to where i can get decent, easy to understand information on how to get around this would be much appreciated.

Both of those give me my ROUTERs ip address, i need to find a way to get my PC's routed IP address, or an exaplination as to how or where to find information as to how using my routers ip i can connect to my pc via FTP for example.

That's not possible, you'll have to port forward the port 21, means when anything arrives through port 21, it goes to your computer, try: http://www.portforward.com

Ok, that helped a lot. I wasnt sure if each PC behind the router got their own ip or not, now i know they dont. Forwarding port 21 seems to crash my router when i try to access my ftp (that i still cant get to work, but i guess i'll work it out after just a little more looking after working this side out.
