I've got that same problem. Emoticons don't pin. They revert back to the annoying default MSN emoticons after I restart MSN.

Could it be Windows' fault instead of MSN?

When you alter your emoticons, make sure you sign out and dont exit Msn Messenger. When you exit, it doesn't save your changes.

Try signing out instead of exiting and see if that works


The problem i have now, is that i can only pin 20 emoticons thats like 2 lines and a bit...and i have no other emoticons pinnned...

i can't add any emoticons during a conversation it only gives me the option to copy not to add what do i do msn aren't helping me..

That has got nothing to do with pinning emoticons, you should have made a new thread

What version of msn messenger are you using?

Have you patched your msn?

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but check your stuffplug options - you can bring it up by typing /xspoptions in any conversation window or through the toolbar:

Plus! -> Preferences -> Plugins -> StuffPlug-NG (make sure this is ticked) ->  Configure

Make sure Enable all custom emoticon shortcuts is ticked, then click OK. See if it allows you to pin/unpin, and please let us know if it works.


farah050, your problem is different - you can read this thread for a possible fix (problem no.2) or reinstalling Messenger should solve the problem.
