Whenever I am in a convo with someone, when they type, the emotions in their name doesn't show up. Why is this? Please help me.

They also don't appear at the login screen where it shows all my contacts!

well, usually, they don't show up cuz that don't put spaces between their emoticons. Your problem might be different...

Also, all the emtions used to work, until I installed MSN Plus, and then they just failed!

I think that picture is a little small...

Two things to check:
a)Are emoticons disabled? You can access from the menu-
Tools -> Options -> Messages -> Show emoticons

b)Do you have custom names enabled? If it is you won't see the emoticons.
Plus -> Preferences -> Contact List -> Custom Names
