Okay undo whatever you did and start again.
[list][*]Look in network connections on the host computer for "Local Area Connection 1" or whatever the active (working) one is.[*]Right click, go into properties, goto ICS and share it with the second non active connection on that screen.[*]If you don't see a second connection do 'Create a new connection' wizard and create a new 'Always On' connection.[*]Turn on the laptop and run the same Create an Always On connection on it[*]Plug in the cable and tell me what happens
