is there a way that when people change there screenname you get a sound. by my is it only when they come online or offline.

right click the contact you want it to make a sound on and go to Messenger Plus Extras> Notifications and then Click "Contact changes his/her user name"

Or to do it for every contact use this plugin

Phoenix doesn't alert to name changes, since it's a feature of Plus! itself. Phoenix alerts to status changes.
To enable Plus!'s name change alert, go into the Preferences panel, Notifications page. It's the second tab on that IIRC, and the option is 'Alert when users change display name' or similar (on a uni Linux box, so can't check).

BTW, the screenie could be updated to the 2.01 version.
