MSN Messenger 6's new message log use xml file, and use xsl to format output. I had modified the xsl file to show a better style.

English version preview:
(Because my MSN6 Messenger is Traditional Chinese version, so the preview have some Chinese words, those are pure English in English version)


2004/8/9 Version 2.1 modified:

1. Shorten name to "ChrisTorng Style MessageLog"
2. Modify for MSN Messenger 6.2 for no email
3. Can restrict contact name display in one line
4. Can truncate contact name
5. Can ignore the style of message text
6. Fix lost of default background picture
7. Fix some emoticons English names
8. Added hyperlinks of mms, mmst, mmsu, msbd, callto, ldap,  nntp, rlogin, snews
9. Processing mouse change to hourglass
10. Improvment for settings window
11. Italian language added, Simplified Chinese modified
12. Many structure modified, prepare for next version
13. Other minor fixes and improvements

Nice program. It works properly. . No problems as off now! I give it a 9/10.

How would I do that?

Goto Mess.be, scroll to "Messed on: 9th of August, 2004" - "Updated: ChrisTorng Style MessageLog" then click "Download ChrisTorng Style MessageLog v2.1.", click "Rate file" and select "9" as you said... then thank you!

I used it, but often get error info and run hardly, include (the info words I translate from chinese)

1, can not open message log, pls reconnect again, this message should repeat again and again if I want to show somebody's logs

2, keep on openning logs and long time no response , and all opened msn-messenger windows will be locked and dis-available , this mode could go on for minutes, and I have to shut down all windows by Task Manager, and all message log which ever appeared in this login of messenger will be lost certainly .....

3, if the log file gets more bigger, the open more harder, and a 2M log file could cost 10 mins to open .....so slowly

and now, I have to uninstall it and I can open log message so fast ~~~

mmm, really strange... I'm using it for a long time and all always worked fine...
this tools isn't update since 2004, I don't know if ChrisTorng is working on new version atm

Sorry for late response. The current implement is very slow, I know. I had plan a new implement, but never start... Currently I had suspended the development, just left an unfinished work. But your situration is strange for me, maybe your cpu is too slow, or ram is too small...? Did you had tried to open directly in Explorer by double-click at those xml files?

I just found your xsl formatter, really cool, gave you high rating on mess.be

I added a lot of custom emoticons to the xsl and it is parsing them ok.
The problem is that they are animated gif's but they are not displayed animated.

Is this a limitation of xml/xsl or is there something that could be done to make them animated?
