Hi, i'm trying to use the video in device on my geforce 4 ti4600 graphics card to be a webcam. I do the Audio/Video Tuning Wizard which picks it up and displays a picture in a preview window (Although its black adnd white not colour), however when i try to start a video conversation it doesnt work.
If i go to Tools --> Webcam settings, it displays the following message:
You cannot change your camera settings because either your camera is not plugged in to your computer or you are using it in a video conversation or with another program.

Anyone know what i need to do? It isnt being used by another program or in another conversation.
When i open it in Video Lan, it works absolutely fine, but how can i use it in messenger?

ive got a hauppage wintv card and can show people what im watching through webcam... it does cause msn to crashes sometimes but it works 75% of the time...

How have you got it set up?

Have you just selected the tv card as the input device and it all works without anything else having to be done?

i open the wintv program and pick a channel.... close that... then goto webcam setup and it has Icatch USB Webcam (my Webcam) and Hauppage wintv (video in) i select video in and then press finish...

I have an ATI All In Wonder Radeon 7500 and I can do it just fine.

Go through the Audio/Video tuning wizard the same way you already do, but instead of activating the web cam, go to Actions -> Audio/Video -> Start a Vide Conversation. That works for me. You have to initiate it both ways (for some reason). That's how I work around it, anyway.
