O.P. startup programs?
Is there anyway [besides msconfig] to modify all startup programs and .exe's?

And also, everytime I restart the stupid my language bar keeps coming back.

Any program that can help me?

RE: startup programs?
you can use a control panel applet found here
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
that i find extremely usefull and use all the time..
So you can access all your startup programs from the control panel

About removing the Language bar if i undertand well, you need to go to
"Regional and Language Options" in control panel > "Langauges" tab > "Details" button > "Language Bar" button and untick "Show the Language Bar on the desktop"
that should do it...

RE: startup programs?
I suggest that you download a trial version of Advanced Uninstaller Pro 2005
Dont look at the name :)
This program has a nice, set of tools, which also iclude a startup manager, which also tells you what every program you have on startup does :) (if the program's name is in the database)
YouTube closed-captions ripper (also allows you to download videos!)

RE: startup programs?
I'd suggust Sysinternals Autoruns it doesn't need to be installed and also is good at listing all the programs that start up with windows like services, logon start up programs etc...

Do any of these allow you to rearrange the order in which things initialize at startup? I have Sysinternals Autoruns, but I can't find any way to change the order in which things start. Basically, I want to make sure that anything connecting to the internet starts after my internet connection is loaded and detected so the programs do not shut down on their own from a timeout and have to be restarted (ie. some messengers).

Clean method to safely remove close the language bar permanently

You can remove the language bar by 1st clicking on that arrow thing and removing it (undocking it) from the start bar.
Thus it will float on the top of the screen. Then click the arrow again and tell it to close the language bar, it will ask you if you want to close it permanently then say yes.
You are done.

If you want it back, then goto the control panel and start it up again

There isn't, but the items in the startup folder are generally run after the registry entries.

You could add an MS-DOS Batch File to either list, and have it just idle (I don't know if this can be done) for a few minutes, then have it launch the internet dependant programs. By this time, all the other items, including your internet login/connect should have been launched.

Seems like it would be a bit much to do that. Thanks for the help, though. I think I'll just stick to making sure to run Spybot every time I start my computer, since it seems to force my internet connection to be established first before anything else. I should probably let it run first anyway, just to be sure.
