today I have tried to use this command but crashes MSN messenger, the same thing has happened with some people I know.

I suppose this command works contacting an external server that gives the IP and it's down, so Plus! might be crashing because it's not receiving the ip?

Have to remember that the http://msgplus.net website is down and that is where the file is that Plus! reads for the external address. It is in your case not timing out properly causing MSN to crash.
