O.P. filter log file
sometimes I wanna look up someone's status change, and i hope to use emeditor's regular expressions to filter out other's status. But I have no idea to look up "others". Can anyone help me out? Thanx in advance.

e.g.
[date | time] contactA online
[date | time] contactB away
[date | time] contactA offline

I just want contactA left in the log file.

Yet another user who wishes to see this feature...

[Sug] Event-logging contacts you want to log?

Should I create a poll? :p

i've just found the answer, the regex is ^((?!contactA).)*$

anyway, it would be far more easy to have a log viewer with some features.

That "feature" wouldn't solve his problem or isn't an answer to his problem. It would only be a sort of workaround.

What if he does want to log everything and not only 1 user (as I'm sure is the case)? He just want to look up the status changes of 1 person inside his events log; he doesn't want to log only 1 person constantly. There's a difference ;)

please, no... there is already a thread about it. There is no reason to create yet another one (with a poll). If users want this feature they can reply in that thread...

In case you want to look up status changes in an active event log/window, you can always sort the columns by clicking on the headers. In that way you can click on the contact name column and look up the person in question and easly see and find his last changes...
