O.P. Windows vista
when does windows vista come out? im looking to buy a new laptop and am just wondering whether its worth me waiting until vista comes out. any advice would be helpful.

Its release date has not be clarfied yet since it is still in early beta stages. although its rumoured ready in the first half of 2007 I think correct me if I'm wrong

Microsoft delayed it several times, but AFAIK i think the latest date is December 2006...So just buy your laptop with XP

There's loads of decent laptops for that price
Take a look at Dell's site: they usually have some sort of deal on.

I would buy your laptop from dell if I were you, they always use Intel Processors and their performance isn't too good... Try looking around some local shops, try getting a Laptop with an AMD processor in too, a good graphics card, and a lot of RAM/Space.

Media centres are only good if you want to use it to watch tv/dvds etc, if you just want a general use computer, then a media centre would be a complete waste of money... Just go for Windows XP Professional.
