I stick with FF due to the fact that if i have a problem then i can see it fixed soon enough in the next version unlike IE where you have to wait for ages. There are always the common reasons like extentions, themes etc etc blah blah ....

What extentions do you have ?? Did you install something (any extention) recently (since the problem started) ??

its from everysite i download from and yeh its when the download is initialising. well i installed all my extensions at the same time, but since i first used FF, i had the problem, i.e before i had any extensions. but ill list them anyway:
Fasterfox
Adblock
Tabbrowser Preferences
IE View
Gmail Notifier

Have you tried to reinstall Firefox to see if the problems gets solved that way? Have you tweaked Firefox in any way? Also make sure you have the latest version installed (1.5.0.1).

yup it is the latest version and i had the problem in previous versions.
also i have reinstalled it, kinda. i had the problem before i formatted my hard drive, and after the format it still happens
it may be weird, but could it be due to any hardware problems?
