O.P. small scrren - HP laptop [fixed]
hi,
i have a HP omnibook 6000 laptop
and just formatted it
and installed XP home edition
but i have the screen size as a box in the middle of the monitor, it is not "stretched" to fit it,
much like a centered background on a normal screen.
how do i get this problem solved?
i looked for a vid. driver on their site but i couldnt find 1

i always thought that just changed the size of the boxes {cos thats all that happens on the pic in the optins }
now it is right but the boxes are too small, so the start menu is too small and the option sat the top of programs {IE as eg} are all to small also and can be difficult to see
any way to make these bigger?

Try setting it to the previous resolution, and hit CTRL+ALT+F11 and see if that works...

RE: small scrren - HP laptop
- Open Display Properties
- Change to the resolution that fits your screen
- (still in Display Properties) Click the Settings tab
- Click the Advanced button
- Under the General tab, under DPI setting, change to Large Size (120 DPI), click OK

Make sure that you have the right display drivers. Don't always trust the default Windows ones. I've seen it on a lot of older notebooks, where you install an OS and it doesn't have the right display drivers. If you check your display properties you might notice that it says that its on a generic or SVGA drivers, or something like that.
